With over 21 years of experience, Joseph B. Mutter, Florida Licensed Hearing Aid Specialist, is dedicated to providing solutions to those with hearing loss. Joe is the owner of the family owned and operated Mutter’s Hearing Center, which has been recognized as the most favorite hearing center in St. Lucie County. Joseph graduated from Bluefield High School, AA-Indian River State College, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Barry University. He is an active member of the Florida Association of Hearing Healthcare Professionals, the National Institute of Hearing Healthcare, and the Starkey Hearing Alliance.
Joseph was born in Bluefield, West Virginia and worked in the coal mining industry for six years after graduating high school. He then entered Law Enforcement, graduating from the West Virginia State Police Academy, the Indian River State College Law Enforcement Academy, and the Southern Police Institute. He retired as a Detective Lieutenant after 22 years of service and was selected by the Fraternal Order of Police as the Florida Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and was recognized by the United Press International as one of the most Outstanding Officers across the United States.
Joseph moved to Saint Lucie County in 1985 and has received numerous accolades for superior hearing aid fitting and patient care practices since moving into the Hearing Healthcare field. He feels blessed for the opportunity to have served his fellow countrymen in law enforcement and wanted to help others in a similar manner which is why he went into hearing healthcare. He continues to provide a valuable service where he reconnects clients with their everyday lives, their families and friends, while restoring their confidence in a fast-paced and cluttered world.
The most satisfying aspect of his work is helping patients whose needs have not been met elsewhere; who have been told that their hearing loss is beyond repair and being able to help those individuals with their hearing needs, and seeing them light up after hearing better than they have in years.
